No matter what happens now, Addison Agen and Fort Wayne already winners on ‘The Voice’
From the start, Fort Wayne’s Addison Agen said one of her goals on “The Voice” was to prove you can do great things at any age. She accomplished it.
Addison, 16, and the other Final Four contestants will take the stage for one last performance during tonight’s “The Voice” finals, which will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. on NBC. Viewers’ voting will decide the season winner, who will be announced during a celebrity-filled results show finale from 9 to 11 p.m. Tuesday.
“The Voice” is broadcast locally on Fort Wayne’s NBC, Channel 21.2.
Addison was only 15 when she started her “The Voice” journey about a year ago by going to an open audition in Chicago. Along the way, she has blossomed from a young lady who didn’t have her driver’s license and had never flown on a airplane to an experienced air traveler and a music artist whose heartfelt vocals have touched and inspired millions of people around the country.
She’s also given Fort Wayne something to rally around — together.
Despite the divisiveness that has gripped U.S. society, the constant bickering in Washington, D.C., and threats from other parts of the world, people in Fort Wayne have been able to set that aside since late September as they joined together on #TeamAddison and rallied to “Vote for Addison.”
People have organized “The Voice” viewing parties. Businesses and organizations have shown their support for Addison with messages on their signs. Family, friends and Fort Wayne residents have spent time and money voting for her during the overnight voting window after live “The Voice” shows.
Regardless of the viewer voting results announced Tuesday, each of the Final Four — Addison, Chloe Kohanski, Brooke Simpson and Red Marlow — already is a winner. Over the past several weeks, millions of Americans have gotten to know them as people and as music artists.
So Addison, Fort Wayne wishes you good luck tonight and in the future. And thanks for letting us share in your “The Voice” journey.
