A man who grabbed onto a moving car during a possible domestic dispute has died, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office, which also released information about a man and woman killed in separate vehicle crashes.

Jason Tavassol, 37, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday. Fort Wayne Police believe Tavassol was involved in a domestic disturbance with a woman and climbed onto her moving vehicle as she tried to leave at around 6:36 p.m. Dec. 12. He fell off the vehicle near the intersection of Coldwater Road and Laddie Lane, landing in the road, and was struck by a passing motorist.

Tavassol was taken from the scene to a local hospital where he died from the injuries he received.

His death has been attributed to blunt-force trauma due to a motor vehicle crash and his death was ruled an accident.

Tavassol is the 40th fatal motor vehicle crash victim in Allen County in 2017.

The coroner’s office also released the identity of a woman killed early Saturday morning at the intersection of Pontiac and Clinton streets.

Chelsie A. Montgomery, 29, of Fort Wayne was the unrestrained driver of a motor vehicle that was struck by a second vehicle. Montgomery was ejected from her vehicle and was found on the road, pinned under her SUV. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initial information indicates a man was driving a pickup southbound on South Clinton that collided with Montgomery’s SUV, which was eastbound on East Pontiac, according to police.

Investigators believe that speed and alcohol were factors in this crash, however, they have not released which vehicle had the right way.

Her cause of death is blunt force trauma from the crash and her death was ruled the 41st from a fatal motor vehicle crash in Allen County in 2017.

A third victim of a separate crash has also been identified.

Daniel J. Simpson, 61, of Fort Wayne died Monday afternoon in the 3800 block of Ferguson Road.

Simpson was the restrained driver of a motor vehicle that was struck by a second vehicle. Simpson was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death was from blunt-force trauma from the crash and his death was the 42nd fatal motor vehicle crash in Allen County in 2017.
