A driver failed to make a curve and struck a Spencerville house, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.

A 20-year-old St. Joe woman at 3:05 p.m. Sunday was driving a Nissan Altima northbound in the 6900 block of Indiana 1, according to a news release from Deputy Thomas M. Olinske of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department.

The driver was unable to negotiate the curve, drove through a private yard and struck a house, according to Olinske. The driver, Becca E. Scribner, was taken to DeKalb Health in Auburn by EMS for treatment of complaint of pain and minor bruising.

Police believe speed was believed to be a factor in the crash, according to Olinske.
