The coach of Snider’s girls basketball team served a one-day suspension and is now back on the job after a player alleged he battered her, according to a Fort Wayne Community Schools spokeswoman.

Coach Greg Friend served the one-day suspension Wednesday, according to FWCS spokeswoman Krista Stockman. She gave the information in an email while the district is on holiday break in response to a request for an update in the case.

Friend declined to comment or say what happened in the alleged incident when previously contacted by News-Sentinel.com, and details of the allegation are blacked out on the police report.

The team will play Thursday night in the SAC Holiday Tournament. Friend had not been at practices during an investigation of him by FWCS after learning of the allegation.

Electronic Allen County court records do not show any charges filed against Friend.
