Fort Wayne firefighters get 4 out of blazing house
Fort Wayne firefighters rescued two adults and two children from a home on fire Tuesday morning.
Firefighters responded at 9:50 a.m. to a reported house fire in the 5400 block of Decatur Road. Crews arrived 3 minutes later and found heavy smoke coming from the roof of a two-story residential structure with the four people still inside, according to a news release. Firefighters got the occupants out before putting out the fire.
Moderate smoke, water, and fire damage occurred mainly to the attic area. The American Red Cross was called to help the occupants.
Other agencies that responded to the scene were the Fort Wayne Police Department, American Electric Power, Northern Indiana Public Service Co., Neighborhood Code Compliance and Three Rivers Ambulance Authority.
