Addison Agen of Fort Wayne was honored at the Indiana House of Representatives on Thursday and also sang the national anthem, a statehouse news release said.

Addison, 16, was honored with a concurrent resolution by Rep. Martin Carbaugh, R-Fort Wayne, which congratulated her for her runner-up finish Dec. 19 on the NBC vocal talent television show “The Voice.”

“I’ve known Addison and her family since she was born,” Carbaugh said in the news release. “I want to offer her my sincerest congratulations on her accomplishment. Throughout the competition, Addison continuously represented the people of Fort Wayne with class.”

Addison currently is scheduled to perform at two sold-out Welcome Home concerts Jan. 21 at the Embassy Theatre. She also is making plans to pursue a career in music this year, with a goal of releasing her second record album in the second half of 2018 and going on a concert tour.
