It’s officially Addison Agen Day in Fort Wayne.

Mayor Tom Henry made the proclamation in front of a larger group of city employees than normally attend press conferences, a fact the mayor joked about during his presentation.

Henry congratulated Addison, 16, for her success on the TV show “The Voice” and praised her for representing herself and her hometown well in front of a national audience. Addison finished runner-up on the show’s fall season finale on Dec. 19.

Addison thanked Henry for the honor and gave a thrilled Henry tickets to one of her Welcome Home concerts this Sunday at the Embassy Theatre.

She said having an Addison Agen Day isn’t anything she could have imagined happening. She also thanked the people present for their support.
