People interested in volunteering to help keep Fort Wayne riverbanks clean can receive training and participate in a project Saturday along the St. Marys River in downtown Fort Wayne.

The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department will host training, including how to clear out honeysuckle bushes, from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Saturday at the Tri-State Watershed Alliance, 425 Van Buren St. near Guldlin Park.

Volunteers then will take part in a riverbank cleanup from 9:15 to 11 a.m. in Bloomingdale Park, along the St. Marys between Sherman Boulevard and Wells Street.
