Kids with guns found in drug raid with shot fired, Fort Wayne Police say

A gun was fired inside a home as a Fort Wayne Police Department special team was entering to serve a search warrant Wednesday night and found more than they had been looking for, police say.

At 7:38 p.m., the FWPD Gang & Violent Crimes Unit, using the Emergency Services Team, served a search warrant at a home in the 500 block of Buchanan Street.

As the specialty team was going into the home, a gunshot was fired from someone inside the home, according to a news release.

Seven people were found in the home and detained. During a search of the resident, two firearms were recovered, including a 5.7mm pistol that had been fired, and a stolen .40-caliber Smith&Wesson pistol, according to the release.

About 100 grams of marijuana was found, as well as several pieces of narcotics-dealing paraphernalia, according to the release.

Two minors face charges of dangerous possession of a firearm by a minor.

Trayvon Rogan, 22, is charged with visiting a common nuisance.

CJ Hogue, 21, is charged with possession of marijuana and visiting a common a common nuisance.
