One victim of a fatal fire Friday on Huestis Avenue has been identified and the identification of a second must await DNA testing, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

Two people were found dead by Fort Wayne firefighters who responded to a blaze at 5:19 a.m. Friday at 1211 Huestis Ave.

Positive identification and notification has been made for Nancy R. Gaff, 68, of Fort Wayne. However, thermal burns to the other victim’s body will require DNA testing for a positive identification, according to the coroner’s office.

Both victims died of smoke inhalation and their deaths have been ruled accidents.
