1956 - Pistons forward Mel Hutchins gets off a leaping shot over the Minneapolis Lakers defense in the fourth quarter but it is in and out. Despite the missed shot, the Pistons enjoyed an 82-78 victory, their 16th in 20 home starts.
1994 - Snider's Tiffany Gooden begins the second leg of her long journey back from rehabilitation on the basketball court at the YMCA.
1996 - A birdhouse from Design Collaborative Inc., designed and constructed by Chris Stine and Chris Barrientos.
1997 - Alan Gaff, left, and his wife Maureen pose in their library and research office at their home in Fort Wayne. Gaff is the author of a new Civil War book about the Iron Brigade, which fought "On Many A Bloody Field," the title of the book.
1997 - Roger Hadley works on replacing the blades on his Field Cultivator.
1998 - U.S. District Court Judge William C. Lee points out the advantages of the Elmo system. It allows for evidence to be presented electronically in the courtroom. Attorneys, the court clerk, court reporter, witnesses and even jurors can see the evidence on monitors.
