1994 - Richard Thomas took advantage of the warm weather and the lovely surroundings of Foster Park Thursday to hitch his loose bumper up a little higher with a bungee cord.
1995 - Although this stretch of Grabill Rd. between Roth Rd. and Cuba Rd. had its shoulder widened last year, the Amish are complaining because it is still too narrow for their buggies between the edge of the traffic and the mailboxes and signposts.
1995 - Two dancers wait for their number during a dance showcase given by North Side High School students for visiting members of feeder schools. North Side has 140 students involved in dance programs, and all, beginners included, perform. Friday's show was an early dress rehearsal for the "Anything Goes" show
1996 - Huntington North's Lisa Winter moves upcourt during semi state.
1997 - Roberta Morrison of UNITE 295C tries to hand a shopping bag to some customers outside L.S. Ayres at the Glennbrook Mall Monday afternoon. The UNITE group was hoping to alert consumers to the merchandise at L.S.Aryes that is made in sweatshops. Mall Security forced them to leave after 10 minutes.
1999 - This is the fourth- and fifth-grade classroom of Nancy Chalwick during reading time at Southwick Elementary School. The East Allen County school ranked 953rd in the state for its third-grade ISTEP+ scores.
2000 - The old tea room on Lewis street has been named a historic builkding and is being rehabed by its owner.
2002 - Jenny Workman a 20-year-old junior at IPFW was named Miss Fort Wayne 2002. Workman performed a lyrical ballot for her talent, her platform was "Building Self Esteem in Children" and was sponsored by Larry Kruse of Fort Wayne Lexus and Toyota.
2003 - A party was pinned in a mini van in critical condition near the intersection of Hillegas Road and State Blvd Monday evening around 8pm.
2004 - Tony Didier, overcoming ADHD problems of his youth via the arts, will speak to Anthis Career Center students about overcoming learning obstacles.
2005 - George Holloway discusses some of his issues with the Fort Wayne Police Department during Saturdays forum at the Renaissance Baptist Church.
2005 - IPFW's production of "Hay Fever" stars Brian Ernsberger as David Bliss and Jane Rebekah Frazier as Judith Bliss.
2007 - East Noble's Taylor March, right, walks off the mat as the referee raises Whiteland's Matthew Fields' arm as the winner of the 119-pound State championship on Saturday at Conseco Fieldhouse.
2007 - Dan Alter, grabs a handful of Pollock, a mild white fish he and other volunteers at St Peters Catholic Church were breading for a fish fry Friday evening.
2009 - Holland Elementary School first grader Angelina Espara, purple, and Alicia Gualpa, skirt, hunt for plants for their salads in the jungle room of the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory with a little help from IPFW Education major Adriane Mast. The first graders were searching for plants they could put in their dishes. It was a visual hunt only, no plants were picked.The hunt was put together by education students from IPFW.
2013 - The Homestead boy's swim team celebrates its 19th consecutive IHSAA Swim Sectional victory on Saturday at South Side.
