Father and son charged after Fort Wayne Police allegedly find cocaine, marijuana, guns

A father and son face drug charges after police allegedly found cocaine and marijuana while serving a search warrant Monday night.

Carlos L. Ellis, 39, is charged with dealing cocaine, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of marijuana, according to a Fort Wayne Police news release.

Carlos D. Ellis, 19, is charged with carrying a handgun without a license and possession of cocaine.

Detectives with the Fort Wayne Police Department Gang Unit, along with Emergency Services Team, executed a search warrant at 8:49 p.m. Monday in the 600 block of Kimberton Drive. The investigation resulted from complaints of gang and narcotics activity, according to the news release.

While serving the warrant, which included a traffic stop, police allegedly found two firearms, one of which was stolen. Police also allegedly found cocaine inside the home and during the stop. Narcotics-dealing paraphernalia was also recovered inside the home, as well as marijuana, according to the release.
