Fort Wayne Police are searching for a liquor store robbery suspect who seems to have an affection for Affliction – and brandy.

A man wearing what appears to be a black Affliction brand T-shirt with a bold while graphic that includes the word “Affliction” on the back walked into the Belmont Beverage store at 929 Lafayette St., at 1:39 p.m. Tuesday and robbed it, according to police. The man is seen in surveillance images standing at the counter while holding cash in his left hand while he held his right arm behind his back as if he had a gun. He did not display a weapon, according to a police report.

The man had bought a pint of E&J brandy. While the register was open he said, “Give me all the money in the till,” according to the report.

With his hand behind his back, he said, “I don’t have to pull this on you. I’m desperate.”

The clerk put cash into a brown paper bag, which the thief took along with the brandy.

The man had been in the store at 8:52 that morning and tried to buy the brandy with a $100 bill. However, the clerk said he could not accept the large bill, so the man went outside and returned with change to make the purchase, according to the report.

The man is described as white, 6-foot to 6-foot 2 inches tall, in his mid-30s, with a slender build, no glasses, and a slender face with acne pock marks. He was wearing blue jeans that appeared to be designed to look tattered and the black shirt with a white design on it. He also had on white shoes and a white bracelet on his right wrist.
