1958 - The circulation desk is the heart of the Allen County Public Library, where adults, teens and children are checking out books March 1, 1958. The library reported that 140,485 books were circulated from this desk in 1957.
2000 - Lucy, right, a retired racing Greyhound, was on hand with her buddy, Aaron, at the Fort Wayne Home and Garden Show on Wednesday, March 1. They are with Greyhound Companions of Indiana, a group that rescues retired racing dogs and finds people to adopt them.
2000 - Steve Sisler of Tranquility Ponds strolls across a bridge in a display at the Fort Wayne Home and Garden show at Memorial Coliseum on Wednesday, March 1. The display includes an aviary and ponds stocked with Koi fish.

2010 - The Allen County Commissioners on Monday recognized the Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health and several organizations and individuals for their efforts to combat the H1N1 virus. Health Department employees worked more than 10,300 hours, drove more than 6,500 miles and vaccinated about 28,000 people in response to the pandemic. 2010 - Sean Costello of Lawrence Building Corp. at the wheel of a loader rakes debris left from gutting the interior of the former George's Express Market, 3230 Fairfield Ave. More than 6,000 square feet of the building and a full basement will be incorporated in a gas station and convenience store, with room for one to three additional tenants. Phil Troyer, the architect who designed the new facility, said the site should be ready for business by March 1 if construction continues through the winter.

2013 - Fort Wayne Police report finding meth, firearms, bomb-making materials in a home in the 4600 block of Wayward Drive on Fort Wayne's Northeast side Friday morning around 10 a.m. Spread on a tarp on the front yard were some of the one-pot-meth labs that were found.
