1951 - The Easter Bunny arrives at Pennsylvania Station on March 2, 1951, greeted by Mary Mac Regedanz, left, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Regedanz, and Peggy Moriarty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Moriarty. The Bunny was in town for the Philharmonic Easter Fair.
1955 - Mrs. Bonna Jo Dommer serves a customer at the downtown Gardner's on March 2, 1955. She has been a car-hop at the drive-in for two years. She and her husband, Richard, a filling station attendant, like to spend their off-duty hours at home with their two young children.
1999 - Waynedale Elementary School student Samantha Miller, lower right corner, laughs at Mayor Paul Helmke's Dr. Seuss tie during an assembly for Read Across America. March 2 was the 95th anniversary of the birth of the late Theodor Geisel, better known as Dr. Suess. Students at the assembly were wearing hats from the book "The Cat in the Hat."
2000 - As supporters of Columbia City's woman's basketball team rose to thier feet Thursday night, Fuzzy Briggs waved his giant flag in support of the first team to ever compete in the state championship in Indianapolis.
2001 - DeKalb's Alex Kock drives past Dwenger's Steve Zent (foreground) to the bucket to score during Friday night's game at DeKalb.
2005 - Khin Sann Nwe begins a protest rally at the Courthouse Green, today around 11:15, protesting the current government meetings taking place in Myanmar, formerly known as Burma. March 2, 1962 maks the day when Ne Win took over control of that country's military dictatorship.
2009 - Fort Wayne Police Crime Scene Technicians examine the back yard of a home in the 100 block of E. Concord Lane where a body was found dead this morning.
2009 - Potter and painter Gloria Craig got help from therapists after a friend pointed out her eating disorder.
