One killed in Kosciusko County single-car crash

One man was killed and another critically injured in a single-vehicle crash in Kosciusko County last Friday.

According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department, a 2008 Suzuki driven by Jeremy A. Hartzell of Nappanee was traveling northbound on 900 West near 700 North when Hartzell lost control, rolled into a yard and struck a tree.

Hartzell was found unresponsive by emergency services and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A male passenger, 25-year-old Nicholas A. Pelc of Nappanee, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Lutheran Hospital.

The crash is still under investigation.
