Final hurdle cleared for Purdue University Fort Wayne

Purdue University Fort Wayne is officially official.

The Higher Learning Commission Board of Trustees has given the green light for the realignment of IPFW, the final hurdle for the July 1, 2018 split of the university into two separate entities.

IPFW received official word of the approved action on Monday.

“The dedicated people across our campus, as well as our colleagues from the Indiana University and Purdue University systems, have worked diligently to ensure a solid foundation for the future of both institutions in Fort Wayne,” said IPFW Chancellor Ron Elsenbaumer in a release. “The continued collaboration between Indiana University Fort Wayne and Purdue University Fort Wayne is critical to the future success of both institutions. As we transition to being separate and independent — yet equally committed — partners, I encourage everyone to remember our number one priority — our students.”

The approval by the HLC Board allows Purdue University Fort Wayne to officially begin marketing and branding itself as a new entity.

Indiana University Fort Wayne has already begun marketing itself in the area with billboards as well as marketing its web site,
