1994 - This house at 2609 Lillie Street was the scene of a triple homicide sunday morning. Two bodies were found inside the house Sunday afternoon and one body was found in the back alley Sunday morning, where the victim had run after being shot in the house and was shot again in the alley.
1995 - While using a broom to beat out the flames, a St. Joseph Township Firefighter grabs his helmet in the wind which fueled a grass fire along Maplecrest just north of Lake Monday afternoon. St. Joseph firefighters were just one of the area fire departments battling grass fires Monday.
1995 - The Bicentennial marker on West Jefferson near I-69 bears the marks of vandals.
1996 - Col. Jim Wilson points to the switch in a ,flight simulator, that would cause the guns on the plane to arm themselves. The only step after that would be to fire the guns.
1997 - Ice covers the brances of a small tree at One Summit Square late Thursday night.
1998 - Brazilian musician Ricardo Froto plays a drum during a traditional song on Thursday, Mar. 12, at Homestead High School. Elementary school-age children participated with Froto in a preview performance of the FAME (Foundation for Arts and Music in Elementary Education) festival planned for this weekend.

2007 - Volunteers Lillie Bennett, left, and Mia Brewer help package flowers in preparation for the American Cancer Society's annual Daffodil Days, Tuesday morning. Daffodils will be available Mar. 14-16 for a minimum donation of $10 per bunch at participating area florists.
2007 - One of the pieces of the aprox. 30-year-old school playground equipment at Brentwood Elementary School that are not suitable for the school's handicap students, as well as not up to today's safety standards. The Fort Wayne Board of Park Commissioners gave a grant for $25,000 to help buy new equipment.
2008 - A rare Indiana white whale was spotted beached on the lawn of the Allen County Courthouse Wednesday afternoon. Rumor suggested the whale was created earlier in the afternoon.
2008 - John Kelley, 76, a self-proclaimed "people person" has been selling cars for 43 years. Kelley sells about 400 cars a year, as much as three times that of an average salesman, which he credits to being friendly, helpful, and following up with customers.

2013 - Rhonda Scher, personnel manager for the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend's schools office, and other diocesans staff watch the announcement of the new pope on Scher's cellphone in a conference room at the diocese's Archbishop Noll Center. The webstream TV coverage Scher received on her phone seemed to be about 20 to 30 seconds ahead of the same coverage streaming on a television in the room.
2014 - A Garrett woman was injured when she lost control of her Chevy Cobalt and was struck by a dump truck. The woman had cuts to her head and left hand and pain to her neck, back, and legs after the accident at 2:28 p.m. Wednesday in the 3800 block of U.S. 6, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Department. The dump truck T-boned her car in the passenger side, and the woman was pinned inside before being freed by firefighters. She was taken by DeKalb EMS to Parkview Hospital. The driver of the dump truck did not report any injuries.
2014 - The early morning snowstorm caused many cancellations and delays, but most major roads were clear by the end of the work day.
