Voter registration deadline in Allen County is April 9 for May primary

Anyone wishing to vote in the May 8 primary has until the close of business on Monday, April 9, to register or submit changes to their voter registration records. The Allen County Voter Registration office is open at One E. Main Street, Suite 176, in the Rousseau Centre (old City-County Building) weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

To register, one must have lived at their current address for 30 days prior to the election, be a citizen of the United States, be at least 18 on or before Nov. 6, 2018 and cannot be currently imprisoned for the conviction of a crime.

Anyone with a current and valid Indiana driver’s license or ID card may register online at www.indianavoters.com until midnight April 9. You may also check the status of your voter registration or your polling location by visiting www.indianavoters.com or by calling Voter Registration at 260-449-7154.

Hoosiers can also take advantage of a new full-service app provided by the Indiana Secretary of State to use their Smartphones to register to vote or make changes. Android users can search “Indiana voters” on their mobile app store and Apple users can access the application in iTunes from a mobile device or tablet by searching “Indianavoters.com.”Hoosiers who want to register to vote just need to text “Indiana” to 2VOTE (28683) from a smartphone to receive a link to IndianaVoters.com.
