Dead woman found at Relax Inn; Fort Wayne Police make arrest and continue investigation
Fort Wayne Police detectives are waiting for autopsy results to find out more about the death of a woman whose body was found Tuesday night at the Relax Inn, but they have made an arrest in the case.
Police reported about 3:15 a.m. today they had arrested David Adrian Fabela, 35, on a preliminary charge of felony aggravated battery and were holding him in custody.
Officers responded at 10:58 p.m. to the motel at 1004 West Coliseum Blvd. on a report of suspicious activity, according to police spokesman Jason Anthony. Officers were directed to a room on the second floor. They went to conduct a well-being check on the occupants and found the dead woman inside the room.
The department’s Homicide Team and Crime Scene Units were called to assist in this death investigation.
Detectives were interviewing several witnesses who are guests at the motel, according to Anthony.
This incident remains under investigation by police, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
The coroner’s office is expected to release the victim’s identity along with the cause and manner of death.
