1957 - The security curtain is briefly lifted July 11, 1957, at Farnsworth Electronics Co., for an open house celebrating completion of a $1 million expansion of its research and development laboratories and plans for a $3 million plant on the old Camp Scott site. Here, an Air force colonel tries (and fails) to dodge a guided missile as he pilots a supersonic bomber. The simulated problem was part of the plant's electronic analog computer demonstration.
1984 - Workers unfurl an upbeat banner on the City-County Building to promote the City's bid to land a General Motors plant.
1993 - Rafters do battle as the race commences during the Three Rivers Festival.
1995 - Retired engineers (l-r) M. L. Miller, Ralph Snyder and Ed Wene combine their efforts to build a huge pencil for the new Science Central. They are working in a shop in the IIT R & D building on Anthony.
1996 - Arthur Wilson responds to a question from John Graham during the Giraffe Project Session Thursday morning at IPFW. Graham teaches High School students how to stick their necks out and make a difference.
1996 - Daniel Scheerer and the helmet that saved him from head injuries during a crash last year.
1998 - Local children's celebrity Happy the Hobo drives around in the Three Rivers Festival parade Saturday, July 11, in downtown Fort Wayne.
2000 - Construction crew members remove the signs over I-69 bridge at the U.S. 24 exit.
2001 - The new penguin chick at the Fort Wayne Zoo is now back with the adults after being hand raised.

2003 - The St. Mary's River on the south western part of Fort Wayne as it meanders towards Decatur.

2007 - Democrat Jill Long gives a speech announcing her bid for Indiana Governor Tuesday at the IBEW Local Union 305.
2007 - Democratic mayoral Candidate Tom Henry talked about his campaign in an interview Wednesday afternoon.
2009 -Racers had an opportunity to try out the course before the races started Saturday afternoon at the TRF Vintage Trans-Am Car Race at Headwaters Park West.
2013 - Andre Talamantes, tattoo and painter works on creating a mural on the side of Moring 's Flower's and Gifts, 2155 Wells Street. Doug Moring, owner, said he had been looking around for something to replace the older, more traditional sign that had been on the side of the building for a number of years.
2016 - Two boys in fake mustaches and glasses Saturday watch the Lutheran Health Network Three Rivers Festival Parade.
2017 - Wesley Clark of Don Hall’s Triangle Park competes in the first round of the Waiter/Waitress Contest at Headwaters Park on Monday.
