1950 - With the school year set to start Sept. 6, Dick Haag, sitting, and Norman Sims, both seniors at Central High School, get ready for the football season by trying on their gear in August 1950.
1950 - With the school year set to start Sept. 6, these anglers at Reservoir Park were enjoying the last few weeks of their summer vacation in August 1950. Sitting and fishing were Jim Boyce and Jerry Dean Gill. Mickey Walker was casting. In the background Frieda Walker baited a hook, with technical advice from Tim Boyce.
1993 - Frank Neeley, 18, of Fort Wayne, displays the piranha he says he caught in the Maumee River Saturday night.
1995 - The foundation of the Martin Luther statue at Concordia Lutheran Seminary campus was vandalized with a sledgehammer.

2006 - Bishop Luers hosted Bishop Dwenger in a controlled scrimmage on Friday at Bishop John D'Arcy Stadium. The high school football season officially kicks off next Friday night.

2009 - Ivy Tech students Joseph King, left, Kevin Ech, middle, and Mike Ehler, work on painting the railings at Harshman Hall Tuesday. Students and facility volunteers worked on getting the building and school grounds ready for the the fall semester. As of Tuesday morning over 80 students and facility had showed up to volunteer.
2014 - Sharon Brown, right, examines produce that Ann DeGrandchamp and her family sell at their stand in the Historic Southside Farmers Market, 3300 S. Warsaw St. “I’ve been shopping with this girl for 20 or 25 years,” Brown said Saturday. Brown used to work downtown and shop with the DeGrandchamp at the Barr Street Market. The Southside Market is open 7 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturdays, April-December. Last week was National Farmers Market Week.

2017 - An entity has approached the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department about possibly buying and relocating the red, brick building that is part of the former Cambray & Associates complex at 312 S. Harrison St. Unless moved soon, the 1895-era building will be demolished with the rest of the Cambray complex to make way for construction of Fort Wayne’s downtown riverfront Promenade Park.
