The Allen County Education Partnership has received $20,676.00 from the Foellinger Foundation and $35,000 from the Lincoln Financial Foundation in support of Project READS, which serves kindergarten through third grade students in Allen County who are currently reading below grade level. A trained volunteer is paired with each student for one hour a week to tutor that child in literacy skills. The program runs from mid-September through April.

The Partnership, established in 1991, is a non-profit agency working to strengthen education by promoting excellence in teaching, training, and leadership. For more information about Allen County Education Partnership, visit the agency’s website at www.abouteducation.org.
