Rescue Mission’s ‘One Night Without a Home’ event to be Oct. 19

The Rescue Mission’s “One Night Without a Home” event will take place on Friday, Oct. 19 and is intended to give participants a glimpse of being homeless while also raising awareness about the problem and raising funds for The Rescue Mission.

Participants will spend the night on the lawn of Charis House, 431 Fairmount Place, the Mission’s women and children’s ministry. The event also includes dinner, testimonies from former Rescue Mission residents, fellowship around fire pits and breakfast a short walk away at The Rescue Mission, 301 W. Superior St., the following morning. Last year’s event raised nearly $50,000, and participants who sign up before Oct. 1 will get a free One Night Without a Home t-shirt.
