Murder suspect’s mom brings him to the police
A man wanted in connection with an Aug. 30 triple shooting turned himself into police Tuesday — with the help of his mother.
Fort Wayne Police say Travon Rynell Fincher, 21, was brought to the department’s headquarters in downtown Fort Wayne around 6 p.m. after his mother saw a news report about how her son was a suspect in death of Ricky Joe Pelmear and wounding of two others. Police issued a bulletin earlier this week asking the public for help in apprehending the “armed and dangerous” Fincher.
Once in custody, Fincher was handcuffed and swabbed for DNA. He declined to be interviewed by detectives and was taken to the Allen County Jail on two counts of aggravated battery and one count of murder.
