In a statement, DeGroote said she has “had the chance to learn from many great judges during my 19 years as a magistrate. Getting to join them on the Allen Superior Court bench is an opportunity I always hoped for. I will make the most of this rare opportunity by working hard every day to serve my community and deliver justice fairly and impartially. That’s our job as judges, and I’ve been preparing for it my entire career. It will be the honor of my life to serve in this new role. My sincerest thanks and gratitude go out to Gov. Holcomb for this honor.”
