New Haven State of the City Address postponed until April 8

Due to a family emergency, New Haven Mayor Terry McDonald has postponed the State of the City Address that had been scheduled for Monday.

The address, which will be McDonald’s last as mayor, will now be April 8 at the Orchid, 11508 Lincoln Highway E. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m. and the address at 7. Cost of the dinner is $30 per person of $200 for a table of eight.

Dinner reservations should be made by March 25 by calling the New Haven Chamber of Commerce at 749-4484. Anyone who would like to attend only the State of the City Address is welcome to do so and should arrive by 6:45 p.m.

McDonald, a Republican who was first elected in 1999, is not seeking re-election. His term will end Dec. 31.
