Sirens tested Tuesday for ‘Severe Weather Preparedness’ week
If you hear sirens Tuesday, it may not be an actual emergency.
The Allen County Office of Homeland Security, in partnership with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, is encouraging residents to plan for extreme weather as part of Severe Weather Preparedness Week, March 17-23. On Tuesday, a state-wide test of the Emergency Alert System is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. on commercial radio, television networks, WEA-enable smart phones and all hazards radios. Allen County will activate the outdoor warning sirens for this drill, providing an opportunity for individuals, families, students, teachers, staff and business people to practice their weather safety action plan.
