Why women's studies?

It was announced that the Women's Studies degree program — numbering approximately 60 students majoring or minoring in the field — would be assimilated into the Department of Political Science instead of being eliminated, as was the initial decision following the response to the University Strategic Alignment Process report issued earlier this year.
