A teen was killed early Sunday morning in a crash in Whitley County.

The victim was in a two-door Ford that was driving northbound on Indiana 5 at 1:19 a.m. when it was struck by a Chevrolet truck going westbound on U.S. 30 that failed to stop for a red automatic signal at the intersection in Larwill, according to the Whitley County Sheriff Department.

The victim, Jack T. Burchett, 17, of Warsaw, was a passenger in the Ford. The Ford's driver, Phillip D. Caudill Jr., 16, of Warsaw was being treated at Parkview Regional Medical Center for a brain bleed, collapsed lung and right tibia fracture. His other passenger, 18-year-old Jacob T. Burchett, of Warsaw, was being treated for broken leg bones.

No charges were listed against the driver of the Chevrolet, who was treated for minor scalp cuts.

The crash remains under investigation.
