Wells County man gets 79-year sentence for molestationA 56-year-old Bluffton man has been sentenced to 79 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of four counts of child molestation and four counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.

Johnny Langston was sentenced last week after a Wells Circuit Court jury found him guilty Feb. 8. After the verdicts in that trial, according to the Wells County Prosecutor’s Office, Langston also admitted that he was a habitual offender.

In imposing the sentence, Wells Circuit Court Judge Kenton Kiracofe found that Langston had abused his position of trust with his victims and had a lengthy criminal history. The judge also noted that Langston sexually abused two children over a period of time and the victim’s suffering caused by the crimes when he imposed the sentence.

Langston told the judge that he intended to appeal his conviction and sentence.
