A man who was found guilty of sexual battery of a woman last month was sentenced Tuesday in Allen Superior Court

Paul Weedmayer, 22, of the 1600 block of Hobson Road, was sentenced to 2 1/2 years for the sexual battery of a woman in March 2016 after they met at a nightclub. Weedmayer was ordered to serve six months in prison and two years on probation. His executed time has already been satisfied.

Weedmayer went on trial last month for rape and sexual battery. A jury found Weedmayer not guilty of the more serious charge, but found him guilty of sexual battery.

The woman testified Tuesday she met Weedmayer March 12 at Early Birds, a nightclub, where they exchanged numbers. After a couple of dates, she testified he forced himself upon her on March 19. She said she told him to go, while he asked why and continued to stay in the woman's apartment. Eventually, he left.
