Fort Wayne Police are investigating a strong-arm robbery which the victim said took place about 7 a.m. Wednesday.

The man who said he was robbed told police that it happened when he walked behind the Wells Fargo branch at 3902 S. Clinton St., approaching its deposit drop-chute. He said he was approached by a man with his hand in the pocket of a hoodie, gesturing as if he held a gun. The robber told the victim to lie on the ground, and he took money, a cell phone and cigarettes from him.

The victim described the robber as black, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches tall, wearing a black hoodie, red shoes and light-colored sweatpants. Police attempted to track the suspect with a dog, but did not find him.
