Beginning this school year, Ivy Tech Community College's Fort Wayne campus will offer two new associate's degree programs — biology and diesel technology.

Biology graduates' course credits will transfer to any four-year university in Indiana for pursuit of a bachelor's degree, with the students starting as juniors at the four-year institution, an Ivy Tech news release said. Students earning the associate's degree in biology also will be prepared to start jobs as technicians in biological sciences laboratory work, forest conservation or medical laboratories.

The associate's degree in diesel technology will focus on 30 percent general education and 70 percent professional-technical education, the news release said. The program compliments the commercial driver's license training already offered at Ivy Tech's Fort Wayne campus and can be used as a start for pursuing a bachelor's degree at a four-year Indiana university.

For more about the biology program, go to IvyTech.edu/biology or contact program chair Diane Lewis at dlewis63@ivytech.edu or 482-9171, Ext. 2546. For more about diesel technology, go to IvyTech.edu/diesel-tech or contact program chair Nick Goodnight at ngoodnight@ivytech.edu or 480-4293.

In addition, Ivy Tech students who graduate with an associate's degree in Cyber Security/Information Assurance now can transfer to University of Saint Francis to earn a bachelor's degree in cyber security. For more about that program, go to IvyTech.edu/cyber-security or contact program chair Daryl Togashi at dtogashi@ivytech.edu or 480-4279.
