Waterloo celebrates one year after Amtrak station reopened

The Town Council of Waterloo and Friends of the Depot will celebrate the first anniversary of the reopening of the historic train station with an open house 2-4 p.m. June 25. 

The event includes refreshments, door prizes and historical information about the Waterloo station.

Waterloo completed a 10-year project to restore and move the depot closer to the only Amtrak boarding platform in northeast Indiana, which was funded by a federal TIGER II grnt and transportation enhancement funds. 

More than 20,000 passengers board at the Waterloo site.
