LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Is North River property REALLY prime real estate?

Regarding November 15 headline: Do 29 prime downtown acres justify a blank check from Fort Wayne City Council? I question whether that location is “prime.” It has secret environmental problems; that alone disqualifies it as prime. Look at its neighbors on the west and north; can you call them prime? Only if you are solely interested in traffic counts (and one-way traffic at that) can this location be considered “prime.” Even with full disclosure and even with indemnity for the environmental problems, the purchase price is too high and the city’s current deal should be scrapped.
