LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Abortion, the ultimate act of incivility

I hear that House Speaker Brian Bosma accused followers of Hoosiers for Life of incivility during Organization Day at the Indiana Statehouse. Apparently Speaker Bosma would like to turn the conversation from the fact that he plans to kill bills that protect the unborn this coming legislative session.

For the record, Speaker Bosma defended Ben Smaltz, his hand-picked chair of the House Public Policy Committee, when Smaltz refused to give the Protection at Conception Bill a hearing or a vote in 2017 and I predict that the dismal duo will repeat their deadly performance in 2018.

The 1973 Roe versus Wade ruling was predicated on the false premise that what is conceived in the womb is not human life, and Indiana Statute IC 16-34-2-1.1 confirms that life begins at conception. Consequently, the Protection at Conception bill would dismantle abortion using the Supreme Court’s own language coupled with Indiana’s own code.

All we need to end abortion in Indiana is legislators with the courage to pass the Protection at Conception Bill.

Abortion is the ultimate act of incivility. Every “successful” abortion ends with one life ended, and another changed forever. Limbs are ripped from the body and the skull is crushed so the bludgeoned baby can pass through the birth canal.

Brian Bosma wants to talk about civility. I want to talk about the 8,000 babies that will die this year and next, while the so called pro-life champion denies the Protection at Conception bill a hearing or a vote.
