People ask, “What’s the good news?” The majority of the TV, Internet, magazines and newspapers is bad news. The real good news is found in the text message of God, the Bible. In the gospel (which means good news) of John 3:16 we are told,”God so loved the world that He gave His only Son so that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but will have everlasting life.” Christian author C. S. Lewis said, “We do not have a soul. We are  a soul. We have a body.” The only part of us that is real is our soul. We cannot visually see our soul but neither can we see the wind, only the effect of the wind. So it is with the soul, we can see the effect of our soul all the time in all that we do.

Our soul is guided in this life by one of two natures. Thanks to Adam and Eve our spiritual nature is guided when we are born physically by a sinful nature. We have inherited that sinful nature from Adam and Eve according to the text message of God as the apostle Paul tells us in his book of Romans 3:10-20.

We are not born with a spiritual nature which understands what the Lord, Christ Jesus did for humanity when He was crucified on the cross. In order to understand His sacrifice for us we must realize that we are sinners in need of salvation. When we acknowledge we need Him, we must do what He told us to do in His text message of Matthew 4:17, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

Repentance is to leave the sins we loved before, and show that we in earnest grieve by doing so no more. When we sincerely repent, trust and obey, the Lord, Christ Jesus will give us His Holy Spirit and He will guide us in the life we should live for God.
