Our granddaughter was visiting us from Colorado and loves to shop for candy and souvenirs at Cracker Barrel. She was disappointed to find that her favorite Sour Cherry candies were nowhere to be found. After checking with the manager, she assured us that she would try and keep an eye out for them or possibly call the vendor to order. Now this is a small, insignificant request we felt, but evidently not to this manager! Within just a week, we received a call that she was able to order, and she would drop off our candies! She could teach other companies about customer service! Thank you Eric Tippman for voting against Surveyor Jeff Sorg's bid to get more than more than a $30,000 increase in salary for his newly elected position. Mr. Sorg knew what the posted salary was when he ran for the position. He won and after three weeks on the job, he wants a major increase. The taxpayers of Allen County need more protectors of their monies, even though Allen County has the big worry on how to spend the $15 million not spent last year. Consider saving, and invest it for future needs of Allen County!

Jamie Drake, thank you for trying to ask Rep. Jim Banks about how he plans to support the people of his Indiana district when a goodly amount of his $ 1.7 million campaign funds came from outside interest groups. I voted for Mr. Banks. Mr. Drake, you are an a concerned, U.S. citizen asking questions more of us should be asking. I did not hear Mr. Banks' answer as Mr. Drake was escorted out by security officers.

Tip of the Hat to Barnes & Noble bookstores (both Glenbrook and Jefferson Pointe) for partnering with Kate’s Kart in holding a holiday book drive providing brand new books to kids in area hospitals. Glenbrook customers donated 1,791 books, and Jefferson Pointe customers donated 2,088 brand new books! Thank you so much for helping Kate’s Kart achieve our mission of providing free books to kids in area hospitals and making a scary time a little easier!
