Amarion Hicks runs wild in Woodlan’s regional title win
MOROCCO – Woodlan High School’s football team is one step away from a trip to the state finals. Or maybe just a few more runs.
The Warriors, riding the production of running back Amarion Hicks (234 yards, three touchdowns), beat North Newton 40-26 on Friday at North Newton to win a Class 2A regional championship.
Sixth-ranked Woodlan (11-2) will travel to play No. 1 Eastbrook (13-0) next Friday in the semistate. Winner moves on to the state finals Thanksgiving weekend.

Woodlan pulled away for good on a 51-yard touchdown run by Hicks in the third and a 31-yard touchdown run by Durkes in the fourth.
