NS In-Depth: Leo’s Jeremy Davison

With Leo looking to contend for a Northeast 8 title, senior Jeremy Davison isn’t quite ready to pass the baton to his younger brother just yet. Davison has been an offensive staple of the team for years, helping push the Lions to share of the NE8 title two years ago with a late season win at Columbia City.

As a senior, he has taken the ball and ran with with as the Leo point guard. He has excelled as using his own pacing to lead the Lion pacing, scoring nearly 20 points per contest and becoming an offensive threat in multiple areas of the court. Here is more about Jeremy:

WHO: Jeremy Davison

CLASS: Senior

HOMETOWN: Fort Wayne, Indiana

HEIGHT: 6’1″

• THE PLAYER — Jeremy on Jeremy: “An energetic player who enjoys what he does and wants all of his teammates to succeed.”

• THE COACH — Leo’s Cary Cogdell on Jeremy: “Jeremy has really improved as an overall player in the last year. His skills have always been good but he has taken it to another level this year. He does an excellent job with decision making and elevates the play of those around him. It is nice to see his all-around game really come together this year and we are benefiting as a team.”

• THE OPPOSING COACH — Huntington North’s Craig Teagle on Jeremy: “Jeremy is an instinctive, smart and outstanding basketball player. He can get his points when he needs to and he can set his teammates up for their points when he needs to. We were unable to guard him and he made us look extremely slow.”

• THE EXPERT AMPHIBIAN — News-Sentinel.com’s Shooter on Jeremy: “Davisons are shooters and everyone knows that. The way that Jeremy has advanced his game has been impressive. All season long, he has shown a willingness to get to the basket and more importantly, the ability to. But his shot hasn’t gone away. He may be the best in the area at knocking down a three against strong defensive pressure with a hand in his face.”
