For the first time ever, fans were asked by news-sentinel.com to vote for the top individual performance of the SAC Holiday Tournament and 44.23 percent agreed on the winner.

Bishop Luers senior Kathryn Knapke scored 24 points last Thursday as the eighth seeded Knights upset top seeded Homestead. Knapke, often playing in foul trouble, led the upset of Homestead. It ended a 46 game winning streak for the Spartans and handed them their first ever loss as a member of the conference.

Knapke led the way in the upset with her scoring, tough interior presence and leadership.

Other nominees were South Side’s Taniece Chapman, Demarque Perkins and Mikale Stevenson, North Side’s Austin Boucher and Lucas Kroft, Carroll’s Kelli Damman, Snider’s Michael Eley and Bishop Dwenger’s Ellen Ross.
