All-Summit Athletic Conference girls basketball teams announced

The Summit Athletic Conference announced their all-conference teams on Thursday heading into Regional weekend, featuring three conference teams.

Conference runner-up South Side led the way with three players on the first team. Seniors Taniece Chapman, Mikeba Jones and Shamari Tyson all placed on the first team after leading the Archers to a SAC Holiday Tournament title in December. Conference regular season champion Homestead placed junior Sylare Starks and sophomore Sydney Graber on the All-SAC first team.

Other members of the All-SAC first team are Bishop Dwenger senior Ellen Ross, Concordia Lutheran junior Carissa Garcia, Carroll seniors Kelli Damman and Laney Steckler, Northrop seniors Bre Douglas and Niomi Dube and Bishop Luers senior Kathryn Knapke.

The All-SAC second team is made up of Snider’s Hannah Barnes and Daleshia Davis, Homestead’s Haley Swing, South Side’s Jaci Jones, Bishop Dwenger’s Olivia Sterba, Northrop’s Arielle Thatcher, Wayne’s Mya Jackson and Bishop Luers’ Lydia Reimbold.

All-SAC honorable mention was given to Homestead’s Kara Gealy, Concordia’s Libby Hetler, Chanteese Craig and Paige Patterson, Carroll’s Macy Miller and Northrop’s Morgan Hughes.

South Side, Carroll and Concordia Lutheran will all represent the conference in Saturday’s Regional round.
