These Komets numbers are insane
Fort Wayne has won a season-high six in a row and 11 in its last 12 games, scoring 70 goals over those 12 games. The Komets have out-scored their last 12 opponents 35-13 during the third period, and they have scored at least four goals 12 games in a row. They’ve also won six of their last seven games on the road.
How are they doing it? Here’s a look at just the skaters’ numbers:
Mason Baptista has six goals and 10 points over last five games. During October and November, he played 11 games, scoring one goal and four points and going minus-1. Since then he has played 31 games, scoring 13 goals and 39 points and he’s plus 24.
Garrett Thompson has 2 goals and 11 points in five games
Trevor Cheek has goals in four straight games.
Justin Hodgman five points in three games.
Since Nov. 25, Ryan Lowney has had two minus games out of 27 games. He’s plus 24 during that time.
Over his last two seasons, Cody Sol is plus-67.
Dennis Kravchenko has nine points in four games.
Jamie Schaafsma is plus-8 playing defense, and minus-6 as a forward.
Since returning to the Komets Jan. 19, Marc-Olivier Roy has seven goals and 14 points in 11 games.
Since starting off the year minus-11, Bobby Shea is plus-30 over his last 31 games. He also has 11 points over his last 12 games which is ridiculous for a defeneman.
Gabriel Desjardins has scored 10 goals in his last 10 games. He’s also plus-13.
Curtis Leonard is plus-14 over his last six games.
Shawn Szydlowski, who did not play tonight, has 17 points over his last 10 games, and he’s plus-16.
Over his previous 13 games before last night, Louick Marcotte had eight goals and 15 points.
These are pinball numbers.
