Gold medalist Lloy Ball opening Angola volleyball facility

The 25,000-foot volleyball facility Ball Sports Academy in Angola will have a grand opening at 9 a.m. Saturday. The facility, located at 200 Intertech Parkway, is owned by 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist and four-time Olympian Lloy Ball, a Woodburn native.

The facility includes three courts with a warm-up/spectator area. The facility will be home to the Team Pineapple Volleyball Club, a 2,500-square foot Parkview Sports Medicine Therapy Center, strength training room with Olympic lifting rack and free weights, wet room containing CET CryoSpa by Hudson Aquatic, BodyWoRx massage group, a pro shop and concessions.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. and finishing by 10 a.m. to a nine-team tournament can start at 12 p.m.
