SOUTH BEND – Notre Dame is nearing the midway point of its 2018 football training camp and following Thursday’s practice veteran coach Brian Kelly felt pretty positive about how his student-athletes had performed through six camp practices thus far.

“I think they have had accountability and expectations for themselves, more so than (the coaches) had for them,” Kelly said. “They come to practice with a purpose. They are tuned into as to why each day is important.

“Last year, it was much more about doing the right things. Now, they are demanding that the right things be done and that is a nice leap for us.”

News-Sentinel.com sports reporter Tom Davis was in South Bend for Thursday’s practice and captured the action at the LaBar Practice Complex. News-Sentinel.com will be in attendance for Saturday’s session, as well.
