Bishop Luers falls in Class 3A semistate game

Foster scores 20, Berry 19 for the Knights.

HUNTINGTON –  Bishop Luers’ boys basketball team ended up one win short of its goal, falling to Twin Lakes in the Class 3A semistate Saturday at Huntington North. The Knights (19-8) led by a point entering the fourth quarter but couldn’t come up with enough big plays to pull it out. Twin Lakes won 67-57 to move on to state.

Twin Lakes will play Indianapolis Attucks for the Class 3A state title at 6 p.m. next Saturday in Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis.

Luers was led by J.J. Foster Jr., who hit 6-of-11 from three-point range and finished with 20 points. Anton Berry scored 19 points with eight rebounds. Ray Walker added 11 points and five rebounds.

Twin Lakes was led by Justin Crabb with 21 points (11 in the fourth quarter). Bryce Bennington scored 15 points with seven rebounds and four assists. Blake Bennington scored 11 points and Matthew Conrad 10.
