The Fort Wayne TinCaps were held to two hits in a 4-1 loss to the Dayton Dragons on Friday at Parkview Field. It was the third straight loss for the TinCaps.
Logan Allen started on the mound for Fort Wayne and allowed two runs in five innings. The 20-year-old southpaw gave up six hits while striking out five. Dayton scored both runs in the fourth inning for a 2-0 lead.
The TinCaps scored their lone run in the bottom of the fifth inning. Third baseman Hudson Potts hit a one-out triple to center field to get the scoring threat started. He scored on a ground out by G.K. Young to trim the margin to 2-1.
Dayton scored two runs in the seventh off reliever Nick Monroe for the final score. Monroe allowed two runs on three hits in two innings and struck out two.
Relievers Wilmer Torres and David Bednar each pitched a scoreless inning for Fort Wayne to finish the game.
Besides the triple by Potts, the only other hit for the TinCaps was a single by Brad Zunica in the seventh inning. They were the only baserunners for Fort Wayne.
The Dragons' starter, Scott Moss, allowed one run on two hits in 6 2/3 innings and struck out 11. Moss, 9-2, retired the first 13 batters he faced before Potts' triple. The TinCaps struck out 16 times in the game.
