Fort Wayne Champs bow out of $2 million event.

PEORIA, Ill. – The Fort Wayne Champs, featuring members of the Mad Ants' 2014 championship team, lost in the second round of The Basketball Tournament.

Always a Brave, led by Marcellus Sommerville's 17 points, beat the Champs 92-81 on Sunday at Bradley University. The Basketball Tournament is a winner-take-all, $2 million tournament.

Fort Wayne was led by Stephan Hicks' 23 points.

The Champs won their opening game against Peoria All-Stars 93-76 on Saturday, led by 25 points by Matt Bouldin. Hicks had 14 points and 10 rebounds in that game.

Several members of the Mad Ants' NBA Development League championship team played with the Champs in the third year of the tourney. The coaches were Rod Wilmont and Kevin Bloom.
